European Union Day, December 15, 2018, Közagdasági Politechnikum, Budapest, Hungary
Our Hungarian partners at Közdasági Politechnikum held EU Day Saturday, December 15th Despite the inclimate weather 10 grade members of the Poli ComServ team showed up in force to present and disseminate the project to their peers at the school while the ComServ leader, Rob Dawson, presented on the project, focusing on Erasmus+ and more specifically on ESC.
Both presentations, disseminations events were carried out twice. The ESC one to the entire junior (11th grade) and senior (12th grade) classes and the ComServ one to 7th graders. ESC garned quite a bit of interest from those who had originally thought there is no way they would be able to be a volunteer, especially abroad. Now, they have a better understanding of what it is all about and plan on applying as soon as they can. The seventh graders were enthralled by the openness, kindness and wearm heartedness of the ComServ members and were very willing to actively try out the various tasks the volunteers presented to them. They too expressed a desire to join projects and already said they will tell their parents about the Eramsus+ program and how much they are looking forward to becoming 9th graders so they can apply for projects too.
Learning by doing and peer to peer learning were once again proven the greatest way to garner interest and facilitate real and meaningful learning.
